Natasha created this winter scene for a rework of the Ladybird book classic, What to Look For in Winter. A dream project that explored the UK's landscape through the changing seasons.

The Apple Wassail is a traditional folklore practice for cider orchards of southern England during the winter. On the Twelfth Night, people would go with their wassail bowl into the orchard. Slices of bread or toast were laid at the roots and sometimes tied to branches. Cider was also poured over the tree roots. The ceremony is said to "bless" the trees to produce a good crop in the forthcoming season.Elizabeth Jenner | What to Look For in Winter
